New Sock Post

I just finished these socks..The little one wanted them for herself. She is posing for me and all of you! I learned to knit when I moved up to Idaho. It was on my list of things learn in life. My first project was a scarf. Second was socks. It took me over a year to learn how to make these frustrating little buggers. My knitting teacher said it would be," Easy peasy and as simple as pie". Yeah right..I threw them in the closet for some months and swore that I would never knit again. Eventually I got them back out of the closet and picked up my needles and gave it a second chance. I began reading the pattern, and it became more clearly to me and I began to understand. Is that the way life is sometimes? It takes awhile but we eventually get it? I guess I am a slow learner. At least that is what I like to blame it on. It is probably more on the lines of being stubborn or and inability to be patient. So, when I finished my first sock, I made my whole family jump up and down with me. I was so proud of myself. I mean who knits socks?? Just crazy ladies with nothing to do? I have no clue, but now I can cross it off my list of things to learn.

Beautiful socks. I have mittens I barely started tucked away in a bag in my sewing room. I keep saying I'll finish them....someday. :)
